The new Car

Another crazy week with many big changes in our lives has past- On Monday- my car was slowed to a crawl- I knew the transmission was about to go- and I was planning on getting it fixed for around 3k because that was my cheapest option at the time- Well - so Monday it was acting really bad and then the check engine when on. I guess that when your transmission goes you check engine light does not usually go on- so it seemed like we may have had some bigger problems. The car had almost 109,000 miles on it- I wanted it to be my first car that I drove in to the 200's- but I didn't have the gutz to risk fixing it only to have the engine break. I loved that car- so sad.
So over a process of 3 days- we got a Nissan Rogue-Ella was a trooper going from dealer to dealer and sitting in their show rooms. The guy at the place we got the car even gave her a balloon :)
Its a pretty sweet car- but the big bad part is that I still don't have a job or even a degree for that matter. It got pretty complicated as to why I got the car we got- but after looking at 4 other dealerships- it looked like that was the best bang for our buck. It is defiantly the nicest car I have ever owned.

So Here it is a used 2009 Rogue. Like I said- its shiny and pretty-I just feel sick about having a car payment and no job- its bitter sweet. It had 9 miles on it when I first got it- the owners before never drove it!

What else was crazy this week was that the chair of my Thesis committee was fired- He is the guy that helps me write the whole thing and get it published so we can get the heck outta D'Youville and get a job-and now he is gone and we were under a July 8th deadline.
I have a plan to get the school to give us a break over this whole thing. We have put up with so much being one of the first groups to be in this program. I have a meeting with them on Monday- at this point I really just want to collect my diploma and leave.
And speaking of Jobs- I'm meeting with the small business development center Monday afternoon! I'm really excited to pitch my ideas to someone who can do something with them and can get me some money. Pray that they love the Oh Snap Chiropractic idea!!

Chomps!

Well- its that time again. The kids all came together to roast marshmallows and make spider dogs over the camp fire while watching a big movie.

We started out with the movie Bolt- it was really cute.

Ella was good for the whole night- maybe because she discovered how good marshmallows are :)

But the big news of the week is that Ella got her first tooth! It all happened on May 22nd- a week before Ella turns eight months. It took a lot of work to get this one picture of it so you better love it- and no comments that you can't see it- its front and center for gosh sakes. Gratz Ella-

Boards

Well I took the part 4 Chiropractic National Boards this past week. They were in Seneca Falls-and they were just as crazy as I imagined. One of my "patients" started to cry on me because her headache was so bad-another almost fell down because she had a serious nerve lesion causing her trouble walking.

All things considered- I think I did really well- Except for on the x-ray portion. That was a little nuts. However- It seemed to be bad for everyone so as long as I did better then those guys- I'm in good shape!

Joe and Ella came along. We stayed in Auburn, NY. It was Ella's first over night trip away from home- and she did great. She slept in her pack and play and went swimming for the first time in the big pool at the YMCA there. It was fun.

Ella and Joe even got to go to Bass Pro! Which I guess is pretty exciting :)

The end of an era

Graduation was May 9th- it was super awesome to finally be done-or at least almost done. My thesis still needs to be published- but it will be done soon.
These are all the people I have spent the last 5 years toiling through Chiropractic School: Kathy Over, Kristi Okeke, Me, Jack Jamison, Nicole Enzinna and Elyssa Bourke.

Mom and dad were super proud-and I'm so happy that my mom was well enough to come out.

Ella came too. She was a bit crabby during the ceremony- I think one of my wonderful siblings took her out of the room so Joe could stay for the big event. She took a long nap during the reception.

She woke up just in time to eat pickles and lemons at the restaurant after.

Mom and Dad gave me a beautiful onyx and diamond bracelet to commemorate the last ten years I spent in school-its so pretty:)
Well I guess I better go find a Job :(

Jumpin

Ella got a new jumping toy recently ~ala Nathan. She is very excited about it :)

Graduation Week

Well Its finally spring time! This is what our backyard looks like this week- Joe obsessed with the panoramic function on our computer now. Last weekend we when to Sydney's 4th b-day and got our first balloon hat. Ella was not happy about the squeaky sound that balloons make when they are squeezed together-She screamed every time we entered the room with the balloon animals- it was funny- but I did get her to wear her's and take a picture just before she started to cry. We also got a alphabet mat for Ella to play on. Joe put it together. See if you can see the secret message he spelled out in my own daughter's play mat. punk.

The really big news this week is that.... I'm DONE with clinic and almost done with school all together! yay! I got my hours done and everything- so I get to graduate on Saturday! I'm super excited- I have been in school since 1999 and now its 2009 (thats ten years! for those of you that go to internet college :). My thesis is still not done- I need to do the research and publish it by mid June ish, but thats on my own time.

So- I'm pretty unemployed at the moment... I really wanted to work with my mom at one of the local hospitals- but thats not workin out so hot. I just need some kinda job because Its gonna be forever before I get a license and some people say its five years before you turn a profit in your practice. So let me know if you guys know of any jobs out there-student loan payments are comin up fast :(

Next weekend is Boards in Seneca Falls..ugh. Its mostly a practical exam- with live fake patients. Kinda like that Seinfeld episode. But these patients fake heart attacks, fall down on you, and yell and scream in pain when you touch them...all while you are being graded. So we will see how that goes- D'Youville does not have a stellar record of having people pass this one- some people just fail over and over again. I did do a very intense review class- so I'm pretty sure I will do well- but when you got some dude painted yellow, yelling at you that his liver hurts...I may pee my pantz.
