Learning to Crawl

We did a whole bunch of stuff this week- We added fish and plants to the fish tank and went to work and school.
The best thing we did this week was learn to Crawl! Ella has been crawling backward for a couple weeks - but she is finally starting to make her first few leaps forward! The first official crawl was 3-26-09-

Since then she has made a few other attempts- but mostly does push ups and wanders backwards all around our living room. Of course we grabbed the video camera right after she did it- This is about 2 mins long- and it even has a warm fuzzy ending.

Guess Joe and I will have to blog about baby proofing the house next week!

The fish tank

So I'm working with this doctor from kenmore, ny the next few weeks. and his office is full of a bunch of old crap*. And among his stuff is this old fish tank that was full of yuck and sitting on a big blue stand that was covered in stickers from his kids. Joe and I thought Ella and the cat would get a kick out of having a fish tank so we took this 30 gal tank home. (with the help of Andrew Milleville (thanks andrew!)) (like what I did there?). It took all weekend but we got it looking great! So if you can make sure you stop by and say "hi" to our new fish :)

***if Dr. Ribakove happens to be reading this, "crap" is code for super cool chiropractic "antiques"?

First real food

Well Ella started her first taste of real food on 3/16, and she hated it. We broke the rules and gave her broccoli first- really because that was what I had in the house and we are broke lol. So we over cooked it and blended it all up in the bullet blender. And then the fun began.

There were several sad eyebrow expressions- and a few whimpers but we did it! I ended up remixing it with some cereal and that made it all better. Her tummy really did handle it well- no gas and no weird reactions-
We did have a big clean-up to do after though.

Ella thinks the bath is the best part- She is so in love with bath toys.

Well- I guess we will be concurring pea's the rest of this week- Wish us luck!

baby sittin

well we babysat emily today- while my poor sister was lounging in Flordia-
We took her all over- including McDonalds- and not just any Mc Donalds- the special one with a play place- we even got her a milk shake.
Then we went to petsmart to visit the cats and birds and rats and such..

They had lots of fish too, and crabs and frogs!

Then we went to Walmart. The power rangers were there- but we were too scared of them to go see them. They did give us some tatoos - five of them actually- emily asked for extras.

Ella and I wore green for st. Patricks day! We had fun playing over at babcia's this weekend too- We were very irish-ish. We ate corned beef and stuff - so I think that counts.

we got hatz!

Well this week we got another clothes shipment from our good friend Sharon Rigg- it had lots and lots of hats- and then some more. Here is a sample of just a few of them.

Ella tried to eat all the ones that had ties.

I think she really enjoyed playing dress-up.

sick

Ella is sick with a stuffy nose this weekend- so we are all cooped up for the next few days. And sleeping has been nuts- so joe and I have been sleeping in shifts- He is sleepin right now- and im jealous..
So we have been hangin around the house and cuddling a very sad little girl. She has been out of it all day because the boogies in her nose are causing all of us not to sleep. She even fell asleep playing today-
Yep -being 5 months old and sick is no fun :(
we did however get to send out some more of our resumes-I have officially started sending my info to San Antonio- sorry mom.
Joe's job status isnt looking so hot anymore either- we are worried the company isnt all to stable- so keep us in your prayers about all that stuff. Everything is so up in the air- it feels like anything could happen- so who knows where we will be in a year-
On a brighter note- joe is in the last days of his first semester of online school! He is finishing his final projects today and we are really excited for him.

Lazy weekend

Well we really just hung out this weekend. We did go to see Aunt Heather at work- that was fun and she had yummy food- we may have to do that again sooner then later.
But for most of the weekend we cleaned and played with toys.Ella got some special Daddy time- They snuggled a whole bunch because Saturday night Ella didn't sleep at all- so neither did we- It was tough but I'm sure we will catch up on our sleep tonight~ yay! While eating dinner tonight Ella got mad that Daddy made me stop the spoonfuls for a picture. I love this pic because it totally shows off the "Ella attitude"- and you can't teach that to a 5 month old- she was born with it... I blame those Mahley genes.
And after getting cereal everywhere- we took a fun bath with some of Ella's favorite toys! It was short lived though because Ella has recently discovered that she has feet. So now every time her feet are out in the open- she needs to play with them and put them in her mouth. Well- that's a big problem when we are in the tub.

but once she found her duck it was smooth sailin-
