eat more pizza!

So there appears to be a chicken wing shortage in Buffalo this super bowl season. I guess its been blamed on the recession- I can't tell you how funny I find this. Is nothing out there recession proof? Are there poor chickens walkin around jobless and retaining there wings?

According to the local news- prices will be up this weekend- Maybe we should have a chicken wing bail-out? or maybe we could write up some kinda stimulus package to encourage all of us to do a better job of supporting our local chickens? I bet Obama doesn't even know about this crisis yet...way to hit the ground running dude.

Joe's B-day

Joe's birthday is coming up again this year and SURPRISE! it just happend to land on the same day as presidents day. The big day is Feb 16- but we are going to have a presidential party the day before on Sunday the 15th. As you may have guessed - this will be a president-themed party! I know you're so excited! right? The plan is to dress up as your favoriate president! or first lady or first pet- whatever really. Anyone can come- as long as they show that they are in some type of character. That includes you - mom and dad- no party poopers allowed! So here are some ideas for the creatively challanged:

A simple top hat will change you instantly into ABRAHAM LINCOLN !
A carefuly selected pantz suit will create the scary illusion that you are Hilliary!
Dress up like checkers the dog!

or Washington's famous, yet fake, Cherry tree!

Ella's dedication

Ella's dedication was this past Sunday at the Chapel. It went soo well-
Of course - we were late- so I have no pics of the actual dedication- we got there and went right on stage-
but we have pictures of getting ready with dad and pics of the super fun party after.

I really have to thank Heather (sister-in-law) soooooooo much for making the party so special. We had really pretty yummy food and balloons and she just put a ton of effort into making the day special - it really was just a great day.

Joe's family came- including his 14 year old twin cousins- kyle and kurtis...they liked chrissy. Thanks chrissy for being a good sport! I think they will be talking about this picture for the next few months. Joe's grandma and aunt tawyna came too. It was so great to see them and spend time with them. I really happy they braved the cold and drove all the way to the church.

Babica made hats for the girls- this is her and ali modeling them.

Aunt carol came with uncle don came too- and the lachs- so everyone had their turn holding the party girl.
Yesterday- ella had her 4 month check-up. she now weights 14.5 lbs and is 25 inchs long. So we are getting Big! then the craziest thing happened - I was telling the doctor how she hasn't rolled over yet - and then she did- right there on the table. She rolled over 3 times and also wiggled her way around the table to get at her baby bag. So I was surprised- A doctor once told me that kids and patients have one thing in common- they will always prove you wrong and embarrass you. So- now my pediatrician thinks I'm weird because i didn't know all the things ella could do- but in my defense- she hasn't done it again. I tried to get her to roll all day after that and then again this morning. I need to get it on tape-
Long story short-
Ella is mobile, dedicated and bigger as of today :)

Daddys still got it!

Remember this picture?

Well- check this out! thats just from a pencile and paper.

Ella and I are so proud of our multi talented guy

Week 16

Ella had a really big week- she started cereal! So far she has had it 5 times and last night she ate the whole bowl. I started her on it because she is almost 4 mo and she has suddenly decided that sleeping through the night is not for her. She gets super excited about her food- she kicks and gets all worried face in between spoonfuls. So that was super fun.

The other thing about this week is that my last semester of school started monday and joe has been in school since friday. But the best part about this week is that we got to give milo, my mom's cat back to her. Between her cat and ours- i got very little sleep. They were good friends and snuggled together during the day and played all night...the last few days I started to think that our cat was missing milo- but then we found that milo was quickly replaced by our babysitters faux fur coat...sorry milo.

so you are going to write a letter?

its chicken soup for the soul....how can you complain about that?

Friends leaving town :(

So I feel really bad- I just gave ella Tylenol cause I thought she was sick- then right after I put it in her mouth- she was all smiley and wanted to play. She was up since 4 am all crabby- then she pulls this smiley thing! Ella's a ninja...
So now she is all passed out asleep...I really feel bad. She really just has a stuffy nose-i think-
My mom keeps telling me that when she has a fever or is really sick- i'll just know. Well- I
don't know...Its kinda like when your pregnant and they tell you that when your in real labour-you will just know-and of course you dont-until it happens-and then you will never mistake fake contractions for real ones ever again...so maybe i just need to find a kid with a real sickness and compare that to ella's fussy/just has a coldness.

Well anyway- my good friends Amy Boryiski and Jeff Spect left town this week. Jeff was visiting from Florida and Amy moved away to LA ...sniff :(

For those ppl that don't know Amy- we went to Dooville together and we were thinking about opening "oh snap" chiropractic in Arizona together- but things got all messed up and Amy drastically changed her life-for the better :)- and is now on her way to Sunny skies out west. So we will miss her- and hopefully she will be back for her wedding soonish- I told ella that she needs to start walking soon if she is going to have any chance at that flower girl position.

Jeff is a really good friend that we have had for years- he moved to FL a few years ago to do an internship for Disney or something and now he works for them and goes to school there. He is the funniest guy ever- so its always a good time when he is in town. We went to Heather and Jake's to play monopoly and found out what cool pics my camera can take-

We are just sooo artistic...

Christmas-One more time

Yesterday we celebrated Christmas with Grandma Luckman. We had a great time and Ella was really good.
We did our big white elephant gift exchange- it was really fun. Ella got a talking bear - which she stole from her cousin Nathan. Joe got original oil paintings from his Aunt and a snow globe that holds pictures. We also got a candy dish with a gift card and ella got a beautiful yellow sweater from Great Grandma Luckman.
We managed to avoid the Indian portrait made of yarn and the green ceramic rooster -both were classic gift exchange material.
The most prized present this year was great grandpa Joe's bell. It was probably exchanged 5 times before Aunt Mavon ended up with it.
Well-after presents Grandma gave joe back some of his drawings that were being sold in aunt Toni's shop. One of them was called the "weeping rose" and the other 2 were of tissues, yep-just tissues. She actually almost sold the rose for $145 to some guy after telling an elaborate story about joe's cancer and how the discovery of his artistic talent was a product of his disease. They laid it on really thick, but the drawing never sold. So- joe- still pining for the bell- convinced aunt mavon and uncle chuck to trade it for his very special drawings of tissues and the rose. I don't know how aware uncle chuck was of the exchange. Hey- at least he went home with that sweet rooster!
